TATA Harrier to Launch on January 23, 2019.

The mid-size SUV segment is where all major automobile players have their bets placed on. And the segment is all set to heat up this new year as the much-awaited Tata Harrier SUV hits the Indian roads on January 23, 2019. The Tata’s  contender will lock horn with the likes of Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass. It will be powered by a 2.0-liter 140 hp diesel engine coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. Tata will offer four variants four trims – XE, XM, XT, and XZ. A diesel trim is in the pipelines for a later launch.

On the dimensions front the SUV measures 4,598mm in length, 1,894mm in width and 1,706mm in height. It rests on 2,741 mm long wheelbase. In terms of key highlights, the new Harrier gets Land Rover inspired Electronic Stability Program. A multiple modes (Normal, Wet and Rough) Terrain Response controller will make the SUV a true off-roader. In addition to this, the ESP will offer Multi Drive 2.0 with Eco, City, and Sports modes.

On the inside, the Tata Harrier will boast of a twin-screen setup comprising of the 8.8-inch infotainment display and the 7.0-inch digital MID. Further, a JBL sound system will add to the drive and entertainment experience.

In terms of safety, the top-spec variants will offer ABS with EBD, six airbags, Isofix child seat mounts, hill-hold and hill descent control, corner stability control, roll-over mitigation system and hydraulic brake assist.
