Datsun is all set to launch it popular small hatch, redi-GO in sporty avatar on this September 29. The new ‘redi-GO Sport’ edition will go on sale in the country as a limited edition. As the festive season is approaching, Datsun - the subsidiary of Japanese auto-major Nissan is gearing up to lure the buyer by adding the sporty spirit to its entry level small car, redi-GO.
The sports theme of redi-GO will further enhance the youth appeal, and Datsun hoping to get a bump in the car sales. No details have been revealed so far, just a teaser image surfaced online. However, one can expect the changes in the aesthetics, while mechanically the entry-level hatch will remain unchanged.
From the teaser image, the front changes can be observed. Featuring the black and red theme, the redi-GO gets a sporty black strip on the bonnet and sides. Painted in red, the car gets a black coloured front bumper, exterior mirrors, alloy wheels and front grille that complete its sporty and catchy appearance.
On the power front, the redi-GO Sport limited edition will continue to power from the same 0.8-litre 3-cylinder mill having an engine displacement of 799cc and capable of churning out the maximum power of 53 PS at 5678 rpm while the peak torque of 72 Nm comes out at 4388 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
It is also being expected that this special Sport edition will only be available for the top-end model. In terms of price, it will get an estimated price bump of approx. INR 20,000 over the regular model.
