Delhi Auto Expo 2016: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Unveiled

Isuzu has unveiled India's first ever Adventure Utility Vehicle D-Max V-Cross at the progressing moto event, 2016 Auto Expo. From a chunk of an enormous new range of cars and technology launches by various auto giants, the Japanese car maker has come up with something exciting for the Indian masses. The D-Max pickup truck is very prevailing worldwide having the capabilities of loading heavy stuffs over rough terrains. After the SUV, MU-7, this would be the second unveiling from Isuzu.

Powering the vehicle is a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder inter cooled turbocharged diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The motor outputs 134BHP of maximum power at 3600 RPM and 320NM of peak torque at 1800-2000 RPM. The 4x4 configured machine also sports off-roading capabilities like the 4WD, high ride suspension, broader track and a longer wheelbase. The body of the Tourer is made up of high-tensile-strength steel plus it acquires heavy duty chassis. The combination makes it able to bear a maximum freight of 1.2 tonnes.

As per the interiors, the pickup holds steering mounted audio controls, electro-radiant meters having multi information display and a 7-inch touch screen audio device. It is likely to carry a price tag of INR 15 lakhs (ex-showroom, Chennai) with an expected launch around the second half of 2016.

According to a statement, the company conveyed, “The D-MAX’s unique feature is its extended cabin space of 1.5 feet behind the driver's’ seat, which can store valuable/ fragile goods. It also offers significant features like power steering, power windows, centralized door lock, etc., making it ideal for commercial use in industries like Agriculture, Retail, Dairy, Engineering, Manufacturing and Small businesses.”
