Ducati To Add Four All-New Motorcycles in Indian Lineup

As per Ducati’s plan for the Indian market, the company is pondering to expand the lineup with the introduction of four all-new motorcycles. Of this, two expected models are the Ducati Multistrada 1260 and the Ducati Scrambler 1100. Whereas, for others, two nothing can be said. Chances are the Ducati Monster 821 was discontinued in 2017 could join the gang. The reason behind its elimination from Indian portfolio was the model complying with BS-IV emission norms. At the third anniversary event of Ducati in India, the company stated all the four-new models will be introduced in the lineup in 2018.

Recently updated with several aspects such as a special racing colour scheme, Ohlins sourced adjustable suspension and a new Akrapovic full exhaust system, the 959 Panigale Corse is also likely to make its presence as the fourth contender in upcoming Ducatis. Other alterations which are observed in the said model is reduced weight by 2.26kg. The powertrain is all similar 955 cc L-twin unit of the model being produced in the global market. The churned out power and torque figures are 150 bhp at 10,500 rpm and 102 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm, respectively. Packed with a 1,079 cc, L-twin engine, the Ducati Scrambler 1100 will be the most powerful scrambler offering from the Italian bike maker. The engine is capable of generating the peak power of 85 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 88 Nm of peak torque at 4,750 rpm. Furthermore, the Scrambler 1100 will be offered with gizmos such as ABS, traction control, ride-by-wire throttle, riding modes and a slipper clutch.

Keeping audience benefits in mind, the company come up with programmes like the Ever Red programme, a two-year extended warranty programme along with Ducati Financial Services with 0 per cent rate of interest on select models. In addition to that, the company is likely to commence several rider training programmes and engagement for the Ducatisti, under the Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) programme umbrella.

In terms of sales, the brand has dispatched over 55,000 motorcycles worldwide in 2017. With the decomposition of around 9000 motorcycles in the same year, the US is the most volume generator for the Italian venture. Brand’s sales figure for the Indian market are not known as the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) not allows to disclose sales figures in India.
