Electric Porsche Taycan is Confirmed To Have A Range of Over 500km

The all-new Porsche Taycan, which is the first ever Electric Car by the German Automaker, will be equipped with an 800V battery that can be charged in just 15 minutes to give a range of up to 400km.

The Taycan is an electric car based on the mission E concept. The company has finally revealed the full specs of the supercar along with details of the already famous Mission E concept.

As already revealed in the concept, the Taycan will have two electric motors that are permanently synchronous and produce a combined power of 600 PS. The car is claimed to have a range of over 500 km in a single charge. It can reach the 100kmph mark in just 3.5 seconds and takes about 12 seconds to hit the 200kmph speed. The EV is expected to compete against the Tesla Model S (P100D), which has a 100kmph stint record of 2.5 seconds and a range of 500km.

The Taycan motors get their power from an 800V lithium-ion battery which is mounted to the car floor. The battery is claimed to contain about four hundred cells, with each cell producing roughly 4 volts. The company has integrated the EV with a new 800V fast-charging technology that is capable of charging up the car battery in just about 15 minutes for a range of 400km.
