The US-based carmaker Ford has recently launched Ford Aspire CNG with two different variants that include Ambiente and Trend plus. Aspire CNG will also be the first-in-segment CNG-powered sedan that houses dual airbags as standard. However, this new car offering from Ford will only be available in a 1.2-litre petrol variant that produces a maximum of 96 bhp with 120 Nm torque. Good news for the economic section in Indian car society is that the car will incur 46 paise/km maintenance cost and also comes with a two year/1 lakh km standard warranty.
Talking about CNT integration, the CNG kit facility will be a dealer-based fitment and will be installed by Lovato, who is also assigned the responsibility of car warranty by Ford. CNG is also integrated with Engine Control Unit (ECU) by the Ford manufacturing team for smoother riding experience and optimised gas flow in each cylinder. In order to compensate the extra weight of CNG cylinder, the engineering nuances like front stabilizer have also been added. This will help in easy handling of the car without any riding difficulty.
When it comes to safety, the new Ford Aspire CNG will come up with dual airbags at the front, remote central parking, rear parking sensor, and adjustable headrests as standard. A 7-inch touchscreen-based infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation, and climate control system is also expected to be there in the car for a premium feel. Surprisingly, the standard variants of the car will not come up with the in-built navigation keeping the fleet owners in mind.
