12,134 Units Difference: Honda Comes Close to Hero in April 2018 Sales

It’s pretty thrilling, Honda reached so near to Hero for getting that largest motorcycle manufacturer title in India in April 2018 sales. The difference was just 12,134 units. It’s like just under the throat of Hero. In April 2018, Hero MotoCorp managed to dispatch 6,94,022 units as compared to Honda’s whopping 6,81,888 units. That showcases a leap of 18 percent, it is the highest ever sales recorded for HMSI.

Wait, wait, wait, the 12,134 units’ difference is the result of combined sales of both the brands. In the domestic market, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India sold 6,35,811 units with a rise of 15 percent. While Hero’s domestic sales figures for April 2018 was not disclosed by the company. As estimated, around 6.65 lakhs to 6.70 lakhs units could be dispatched.

On the other hand, the scooter segment where Honda leads. The registered sales were above 4 lakh units. Altogether, the motorcycle models which are not that popular also get the hike with figures above 2 lakh units. The export market also witnessed an unbelievably 70 percent growth. The highest ever recorded exports figures are 46,077 units.

With such guns blazing performance, the day is not far when Honda will be a number one manufacturer in India in volumes. It is pretty appreciable for Hero as they are continuing alliance on Honda-sourced technology and engines, they managed to maintain the lead. The day when Hero will lose out its command on India’s largest manufacturer tag is not far than expected.

Furthermore, the company has a plan of introducing a new product along with updating 18 existing products. Besides, Hero XPulse, the company will also introduce some models this year.
