Honda RFV1000 V4 Superbike Could Make Way With CBR1000RR Fireblade

The new CBR1000RR Fireblade from Honda is anticipated to launch in 2017 in the litre-class Superbike segment. The Japanese venture also hinted to produce an all new RVF1000 V4 Superbike and an economical version of the RC213V-S MotoGP replica as its future projects.

Powering The RVF1000 V4 Superbike will be borrowed from the sibling RC213V-S, but an in-line four-cylinder mill will be replaced by a V4 engine to make it the racetrack beast to rival with 200hp power bikes. When MCN quizzed Tetsuyo Suzuki, the head of Honda’s Research and Development, he said, “There are three projects under serious consideration. The three options open to us include a new replacement for the Fireblade, the RVF1000 and also a cheaper version of the RC213V-S. We will be studying all three in parallel and all are under serious consideration, but it is likely there will be one or perhaps two of the three options made for production.”

Though, Tetsuyo Suzuki clarifies that as of right now only the new Fireblade is the priorty to focus on and the remaining projects are simply the research projects for the company and if talked more about RVF1000 V4 then it may unveil in 2019.

Moreover, the revised World Superbike rules seem favorable to the RVF as the number of bikes sold has been reduced to 500 from 1000 to fulfill homologation regulations. The WSB price tag of €40,000 (approx £31,000) also a plus point to make a profitable figure for this Japanese automaker.
