Honda Showcases New 2018 Honda Africa Twin at Delhi Auto Expo

Auto Expo 2018 that is in its 14th iteration observed the roll out of 11 models from the Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India. The major highlight of the showcased models was the X-Blade in the adventure segment. Other models were existing models of revived avatar including 6 domestic and 4 imported models.

Besides, the Honda Africa Twin that is a premium adventure motorcycle from the bike maker in Indian lineup also managed to hold the attention of the audience. Basically, the motorcycle gets an update of new throttle by wire technology that is associated with 3 new rider modes. This new addition will offer a custom engine character and traction to the motorcycle. Other fittings include new instrument console, stainless steel spokes with altered footrest hangers those will offer better off-road capability. In addition to these, a new emergency stop signal function is also provided in the rear indicators.

Mechanically, there are no changes in the 2018 model as compared to the older one. The identical 998cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke Unicam 8-valve Parallel Twin motor that is in mechanism with 270-degree crank will take care of propelling duties. Though the engine is tuned to generate the maximum power of 65Kw (87 bhp) at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 92Nm at 6,000 rpm.
