Hyundai Cars Prices Hiked Post Increase in GST Cess

The GST Council has released the amended cess rates under which hatchbacks and sedans are included in the mid-sized segment, other than the luxury segment and SUVs. All these segments attract hiked cess rates in the 2-7 percent range. The South Korean auto major, Hyundai, along with the other manufacturers such as Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Honda Cars India, and Jeep India, has also updated their product prices post cess revision.

The models such as the Hyundai Eon, Grand i10 and the Xcent are excluded from the price revision as they fall in small cars category. While, the other models like the Hyundai Elite i20, Verna, Creta, Elantra and the Tucson are now attract increased costs as compared to the prices announced during the Goods and Services Tax implementation.

Here are Hyundai’s car prices fluctuations. The range seen the rise in prices from the lowest Rs 12,547 for the Elite i20 (1.4-litre petrol AT) to the highest Rs 84, 867 for the promising SUV, Tucson. The high in demand sedans such as the newly launched Hyundai Verna and the Elantra now will make you shell out more Rs 29,090 and Rs 50,312 to Rs 75,991 for these respective products over the previous price stickers.

The increase in car prices at the onset of the festive season is shocking for the buyers who are going to purchase all new Hyundai this Diwali. But the carmakers just followed the GST Council's decision. The time when GST was implemented in the country the prices of the automobiles went down to a significant margin.
