Hyundai Tucson Spied Testing in Chennai ahead of its Launch

Introduced at the 2016 Auto Expo, Hyundai Tucson has been spied testing in Chennai ahead of its launch, which will take place during the festive season of this year. Although, the car was heavily camouflaged, it had showed some of the basic elements at the exterior.

Pursuing the details, it comes out with the features that are similar to the one found with production unit. It includes the projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, and sunroof. In addition, the model is expected to run at 17-inch alloy wheels and carry out with latest Fluidic design philosophy. In terms of dimensions, it measures in 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,645 mm in height and 2,670 mm in wheelbase.

As many other Hyundai D-segment cars, this can also be amazed with many of those regular and advanced features. Some of the common equipment are listed as leather seats, automatic wipers, dual-zone climate control, an infotainment system with touch screen display, airbags, etc.

There aren't much details about the powertrain, but it is likely to be powered by a 2.0-litre four cylinder CRDi diesel engine, which is capable to push out the car with a max power of 130 Bhp along with 260 Nm of torque. Besides, the carmaker can also be offered with a 1.8-litre petrol motor that is sourced from Elantra and generates about 150 Bhp of power and 178 Nm of torque. To send the power at the wheels, the engines could be mated with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Once launched, it will be slotted between the Hyundai recently launched Creta and the famous Santa Fe in SUV range. It will also compete against the cars of Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Hexa.
