Volkswagen To Introduce an Upgraded diesel engine in October

Volkswagen has announced that it will bring an efficient and upgraded version of the 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine.The new diesel engine will be replacing the 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit as well as the 1.6-litre four-cylinder powermill. These engine are used to power major VW range along with skoda Rapid.

Today, The automaker rolled out the first Ameo compact sedan from its facility located near Pune. During the event, Andreas Lauermann, MD of VW India revealed that this updated 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine will now produce 108 bhp instead of 103bhp. This power boost will be improving the efficiency of the vehicle. But, the torque output will remain same i.e 230 Nm.

This new engine is said to make debut with the Vento model. Thereafter, it will be assembled in the popular models such as Polo, the Ameo compact sedan and Skoda Rapid.

However, the automaker would make a slight increment in the power in comparison to the current engine that comes fitted with the present models.
