General Motors India previewed the Chevrolet Essentia at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 in a near production model. The Chevrolet Essentia is said to be the inspired from the popular chevrolet Beat. Chevrolet confirmed that the hatchback will be launched in India by 2017.
The Chevrolet Essentia concept was designed and developed by the GM Korea Design Studio. Moreover, the production-ready model receives some additional features such as Chevrolet MyLink2 infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual airbags, reversing camera, and ABS.
According to a report from Motor Octane, the Indian-spec Chevrolet Essentia will get a 1.0-litre three-cylinder diesel engine, which will be further paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Presently, GM is using the Fiat 1.3-litre diesel engine that powers the the Sail and Enjoy models.
