Jaguar Celebrates XJ6 Anniversary With Bespoke Offering For Nicko McBrain

Ahead of the 50th anniversary of the XJ6, Jaguar is going to launch a bespoke XJ6 commissioned by the Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain. The automaker had previously built a custom XKR-S model as per the legendary drummer's specifications in 2012. The XJ6 comes loaded with modern features coupled with fixtures like push-button start, LED headlights, built-in infotainment screen.

Jaguar’s Classic Division has over the years shouldered the responsibility for continuation models, restorations, and other heritage work. The McBrain commissioned XJ6 project required 3,500 hours of work by the Classics division to witness completion. Usually, the division is responsible for period-accurate restorations. However, this was the classic division's rare advertised project. The anniversary version also carries customized Jaguar growler logo on the steering wheel and wheel center caps.

The 50th-anniversary word boasts of special Custom bodywork which is the reason for its standout feel. The custom bodywork differentiates the car from factory XJ6s. The inside of the cabin has also gone under the knife. Cosmetic updates include red upholstery that is a reminder of the yesteryears. Besides the flashback interior, the custom-made offering has modern features like remote central locking, reversing camera and a 1,100W sound system. Under the hood, the already powerful XJ6 will be further aided by a three 2in SU carburetors system. This was precisely done at Nicko McBrain’s personal request.
