KTM Launches Duke 250 and RC 250 in Indonesia

KTM Indonesia has launched its middleweight motorcycles- KTM Duke 250 and KTM RC 250 at the Indonesian Motor Show 2015. The Duke 250 has been launched at IDR 69.5 million (INR 3.31 lakh), while the RC 250 has received a price tag of IDR 74.5 million (INR 3.55 lakh). There is also a tempting discount of the both models of around INR 30,000 for those who book their KTMs at the show. Thus, the Duke 250 and RC 250 were showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show, that was being held in March 2015 at Japan. Kristianto Goenadi, President and Director of KTM Indonesia, who launched the bikes, said that there would be a national racing championship on the KTM RC 250 in 2016.

The KTM RC 250 is inspired by the RC series of fully-faired sports motorcycles, while the Duke 250 has inherited the property from the Duke series of naked sports motorcycles. Both the models housing an identical quarter-liter motor that are powered by a 249cc, liquid-cooled and single cylinder engine that return 30.5 BHP of power at 9000 RPM and 24Nm of torque at 7250 RPM, coupled to a six-speed transmission. The Duke 250 and RC 250, both are using same lightweight trellis frame that will provide dynamic stability and rigidity.

In terms of design, the KTM 250 Duke looks very similar to the Duke series of naked sports motorcycles, whereas the KTM RC 250 has borrowed design and body cues from the RC Series of fully-faired sports motorcycles. There is no confirmation about the arrival of both these sports motorcycles towards the Indian market. But we are hoping that the both, Duke 250 and RC 250 will make their availability in the Indian two-wheeler market soon.
