A few days ago, we informed you that Mahindra could launch the S101 compact SUV before the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. And recently, some reports have surfaced revealing the launch to take place in January. Amidst all this, those who are hoping to get some information about the car's official name, well good luck for that because it's still not known. It seems like the company wants to keep everything secret until the launch, even the model name. Although it is likely to be named XUV100, but it is quite unpredictable as to what name will the vehicle carry.

Coming to the mechanical specs, this model will be utilising engines that have been manufactured jointly by Mahindra and Ssangyong. It will be packed with a 1.2 litre motor in both diesel and petrol variants. Power will be transmitted via a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional CVT unit. The fuel efficiency offered by petrol model will be 18-19km/l while that of the diesel mill will be delivering around 22-23 km/l of mileage.
The upcoming crossover is a 5-seater and will be equipped with various hi-tech features that include LED daytime running lights, music system with Bluetooth & AUX connectivity, and steering mounted audio controls. The safety components on the offer might comprise ABS, EBD, EPS and dual front airbags. This compact vehicle will be manufactured at company's Chakan production facility and might be priced at the starting price of INR 4-8 Lacs.
