Near Production Ready 800cc KTM Spotted While Testing In Austria

The internet is rich with the surfaced online images of the upcoming 800cc KTM motorcycle, which has been captured during its various test runs, since last year. Once again, the test mule of naked runner has been spotted while performing tests near company’s Headquarters in Mattighofen, Austria. Perceiving as a full-fledged version, the test bike is continue to move forward the same design philosophy of the brand and like to be entitled as KTM 790 Duke.

In appearance, keeping the massive front profile, the bike is adorned with a delicate headlamp, sculpted fuel tank with sharp tank extensions, split seats and a distinct single sided exhaust muffler borrowed from the previously seen prototypes.

For powertrain concerned, KTM-CEO, Stefan Pierer officially revealed about the development of an all-new 800cc, twin cylinder engine. Mentioned engine setup may be fitted on this 790 Duke and further, an upcoming adventure bike can also have this as its beating heart in near future. If this happens, the 800cc KTM’s adventure featuring will be pitted against the already available best in class motorcycles like BMW F800GS, Honda Africa Twin and the Triumph Tiger 800.

Though, the official did not say a word about the mechanical configuration. However, there is chances this new KTM 790 Duke will get the power from liquid cooled, twin cylinder engine that is capable to belt out power between 90 and 100PS, with the mated six-speed transmission. For precise braking, dual discs at front and a single disc unit are offered at rear wheel with the integrated dual channel ABS system. Damping duties are under the care of WP sourced USD forks at front and a mono shock unit at the rear.

KTM is all set to showcase this KTM 790 Duke at the upcoming 2016 EICMA motorcycle show this year. Expectation are this new 800cc motorcycle will hit the Indian automobile market via CKD route at the price sticker around Rs. 6 Lakh to Rs 7 Lakh ex-showroom.
