New Chevrolet Onix Facelift Test Mule Spied

After a long duration of three years, Chevrolet is ready to bring an upgraded version of its Onix hatch. The above-stated statement has now been proved true from the surfaced spy shots of Onix's new derivative test mule via Autoblog Argentina. The current Chevrolet Onix was firstly showcased at the 2012 Sao Paulo Auto Show and after few months, it had been launched in Brazil in November 2012.

News from the sources rolled out that apart from the spied facelift version of Chevrolet Onix , the automaker is likely to introduce an adventure variant of the Onix model. The suspected model will own the rugged stance with healthy ground clearance. As per the Argentinian publication, the adventure variant will be called Chevrolet Onix Active.

Moreover, the front fascia of the new Chevrolet Onix facelift and its sedan variant is inspired by the second generation Cruze. On mechanicals, the firm did not reveal a word.

The current ongoing Onix model is available in the Brazil with two engine- petrol and ethanol. The base model gets power from the 1.0litre four-cylinder flex fuel engine that is capable of churning 80 CV (58.8 kW/78.9 hp) of power and 96 Nm of torque. While petrol engine unit of the same model belts out 78 CV (57.4 kW/ 76.9 hp) of power and 93 Nm of torque. The engine assembly is in connection with 5-speed manual transmission.

The top variant of 1.4-litre four-cylinder flex unit produces 106 CV (77.9 kW/104.5 hp) power and 136 Nm torque on running ethanol and on petrol the similar motor pumps out 98 CV (72.1 kW/96.7 hp) power and 127 Nm torque. The engine setup is linked to the same 5-speed manual transmission, but an option of six-speed automatic transmission also offered by the carmaker.
