The latest 2018 Yamaha R1 is launched in the country at a price tag of Rs. 20,73,074 (ex-showroom, India). Yamaha R1 is considered as the premium model in the Indian market. The models which are not available in the Indian market are R1M and V-Max as both the bikes are very costly comparing the other bikes in the competition.

The latest model of YZF-R1 can be seen in Yamaha Blue and Tech Black shade and will be reaching the country through CBU (Completely Built Up) route. The Yamaha R1 2018 is powered by a 998cc, four-cylinder crossplane engine which is able to churn out a maximum power of 200 HP at 13,500 rpm and a peak torque of 112.4 Nm at 11,500 rpm. The motor of the bike comes mated to a 6-speed transmission setup.

The company has revised the R1 2018 model with Lift Control System (LCS) and Quick-Shifter System (QSS) for comfortable sports riding. The latest variant is inspired by the track spec Yamaha YZR-M and the feel of intense power can be realized at every single twist of the throttle.

The inclusion of the aluminum pistons and titanium connecting rods enhance the operability conditions of this liter class engine. The back half of the frames are made up of Magnesium in relation to the lightweight magnesium wheels. In addition, the lot of weight is controlled by a lightweight 4 into 2 into 1 exhaust system.

Astonishingly, major brands are dragging their price cut for motorcycles, if they are entering through the CBU or CKD route in the country. Yamaha R1 also reduced the price and we can see the difference of Rs. 4 lakh in price cut and the same is fitting with the bikes from Kawasaki. In the competition, Honda also put the affordable Goldwing 2018 in the Indian market.

The rivals of the Yamaha R1 include Honda CBR1000RR, Kawasaki ZX-10R, and Suzuki GSX-R1000. The weight of the bike is 200 kg and gets a 17-liter fuel tank. Coming to the seat height, the higher end is positioned at 855mm. The front face of the bike showers amazing looks with the addition of a YZR M1 silhouette, golden forks, and minimalistic headlight presence.
