Nissan X-Trail To be Launched in India By The End Of 2016

Showing up the new Hybrid SUV at the 2016 Delhi auto expo, Nissan India is set to launch the much anticipated X-Trail model by the end of this year. Discontinuing the previous version of the X-Trail in the Indian market, the automaker is trying to recapture the market by introducing the latest version of the model. The new X-Trail wears a lavishing exterior and interior. As per the reports, the indian-spec X-Trail will be offered with a petrol hybrid engine, mated to a CVT gearbox.

Nissan X-Trail Side Profile

The Nissan X Trail Hybrid will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor. This engine will be capable of generating a maximum power output of 179bhp. The automaker has intentions of making the X-Trail offer better off-capabilities. Moreover, it will be equipped with an electronic 4WD system which enhances the handling on uneven terrain.

The new X-Trail will be imported to India as CBU (completely build-up) unit, so it might get more costlier in comparison to the previous model. However, the petrol variants will be liable for some Govt. relaxation as it shall be benefited by Government sponsored FAME (faster adoption and manufacturing of hybrid and electric vehicles) scheme.

Nissan X-Trail Rear Profile

In the Indian market, the new 2016 X-Trail will face challenges with prominent rivals like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Honda CR-V. However, the carmaker has not revealed much information regarding the launch details. Anyways, this premium SUV is likely to cost around INR 32 lakh – Rs. 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
