No More KTM Duke, A 250cc on Charts for 2015 @ EICMA

KTM has planned to not to launch Duke 690 and 1290 in India. The market strategy in the country might have stopped the firm to proceed with their Duke series further in the country. KTM has a joint venture with Bajaj Auto Limited for selling and production division. The alleged series was introduced in few years back with the Duke 200 bike, after which Bajaj had also introduced their Pulsar 200NS with a heavily lower price than Austrian’s vehicle. Recently, the RC series has also marked their footprints recently with RC 390 and RC 200.

KTM’s CEO has teased the crazy public with the arrival news of a 250cc motorbike, but they reserved the further information upto their end. As far as the competition is concerned, KTM could rival with Honda CBR250R, but as the company has faced a lot of tensions with the series in India, KTM won’t be facing any dread with it, rather the upcoming Yamaha R25 would play a sincere game with the Austrians. The appeal and the craze seen in Indonesia with the R25 has shown its impact over public making calm sitters go crazy. The 250cc bike could probably be a sports model as the dirt and enduro be not Indian’s choice while cruiser is not brand’s choice.  The rumour’s are targeting over a double cylinder 30PS engine and it could also be something close to the Duke also, but the final story will be getting uncovered only during the EICMA Show.

The company CEO also explained about clogging the bigger duke series. They said that the Duke 690 and Duke 1290 won’t be arriving over the Indian roads any time in the near future. The reason for this which they gave was regarding the bad roads and senseless traffic situations in India. The Duke 1290 is an 180BHP hawk which is a lightning fast element. Folks, if ride it over here, will either end up getting too slow over the path or they will result in some trauma situation. It’s good that company has taken care of these things, as at least someone has realized the facts behind the situations and not followed the volume game plan.  On the other hand, the KTM will be treating the Duke 690 in another way with the changes in cylinder unit by doubling it. This bike is also estimated to be arriving at the EICMA show.

With the launch of KTM RC390 and RC200, the Duke platform has broadened their scope in India. The response and craze be very fascinating and probably it will do great things here.
