Okinawa Autotech Pvt. Ltd, a recently established electric two-wheeler manufacturing company launched its all new Ridge electric scooter in the country. The company has been recently established in 2015 in the country and has plans to invest Rs 270-275 crore in upcoming three years. For now, the company has two more launches in the upcoming months of 2017.
The new Ridge by Okinawa will be available with a price tag of Rs 43,702 (ex-showroom Delhi), and with mandatory RTO registration and insurance because it offers high power. Apart from scooters, the company also have plans to introduce motorcycles across the country.
The sales of Electric two-wheelers cover just 1 percent of the total sales of two-wheelers across the country, so, the company has to hustle a bit harsh to grow in this niche segment. The company is currently looking forward to setup a manufacturing plant, to build up the scooters locally in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.

Talking about the new offering by the company, it rides at a top-speed of 55 kmph along with a top range of 200 kms in a single full charge, which takes about 6-8 hours. The company also provided an option of fast charging, which according to the company can charge your scooter 80% in less than two hours of time period.
The company currently have a total number of 24 dealers in states including Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh, which its is planning to grow up to 450 dealers in next three years. Moreover, Okinawa is also planning to open an R&D center in Rajasthan to implement charging infrastructure facilities in key cities as a pilot project before implementing it for other cities.
