Polestar 1 Will Make Debut In Europe During 2018 Geneva Motor Show

Polestar is ready to make debut with the first production model, Polestar 1 in Europe by launch at the Geneva Motor Show 2018. Polestar which is an inbuilt division for Volvo now ready to make its performance electric cars by taking Volvo design and chassis. The Polestar 1 will make its place for being a hybrid performance car which will make production done in the latest purpose-built factory in China with two other cars.

The Polestar 1 is powered by an electric performance hybrid GT engine producing a maximum power of 600hp and a peak torque of 1000Nm. The 150 Km range in pure is creating the longest electric-only driving range in relation to hybrid cars in the world. The car was first revealed at the Shanghai in October 2017 and production will finish in mid-2019.

Thomas Ingenlath, Chief Executive Officer at Polestar says, “We are looking forward to exhibiting at the Geneva Motor Show and are excited to hear feedback and see the reactions from the public on our first car and our new brand."
The Polestar 1 will come as the halo offering from the company along with the four-seater arrangements and 2-door setup and it is a coupe version of the Volvo S90. The car is corroborated by the Volvo SPA which supports the S90 sedan considering the standard form but has been revised up to 50% to go in relation to the high-performance batteries and motor.

Coming to the design, the car shows similarities with Volvo S90 based coupe and the 2013 Volvo Coupe Concept. The body of the coupe is made up of carbon fibre mostly to slow down the weight number and maintains approximately 230 kg as compared to the aluminum. The Polestar 1 has Thor's hammer headlamps, the boomerang-shaped curved tail lamps, and the upright front stance.

Soon, the Polestar 1 will get two new family members, named Polestar 2 and Polestar 3. As Polestar 1 is a hybrid variant, the other two vehicles are battery based electric vehicles without a choice of an internal combustion engine. The Polestar 2 will come as an all-electric sedan and will rival to the Tesla Model 3. The Polestar 2 expects a reveal soon and a complete production by late 2019. The Polestar 3 will be available as a large SUV and will be in the market soon. The Polestar 3 is expected to price between the Polestar 2 sedan and the Polestar 1 hybrid variant.
