Renault India Launches Lodgy MPV Unofficially

Well well well!! The much awaited Renault Lodgy MPV has been launched in India in an unofficial way at the recently concluded Star Guild Awards 2015 and has been given to the Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan and thus has become the first owner of the car in India. The car has been launched in the same way as its Koleos was uncovered in 2014 and Mr. Salmaan Khan became the first owner of the car. At the event, the company's brand ambassador Anil Kapoor were present with the CEO and MD of Renault India Mr. Sumit Sawhney. However, it was yesterday only that the company has announced a pull back on its Scala sedan and Pulse hatchback over the faulty air-bag issue.

Coming to the original topic, this new MPV will be taking a guard against the Honda Mobilio, Datsun Go+ and other cars in the segment as the manufacturers are sniffing growing possibilities in the Indian MUV market. It will be available in India with 1.5 Litre K9K turbo diesel engine and a 1.6 Litre petrol mill that is also the heart of its Duster compact SUV. The petrol version of the car is expected to deliver around 108 bhp power and 248 Nm torque mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The price is supposed to be around INR 8 lacs Ex-Showroom and hence will be in the very right picture with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Enjoy, Mahindra Xylo and Quanto. However, the official launch is still to be done and we could expect it soon as the car has been launched already.
