Renault Kwid Facelift Caught While Testing

The Renault Kwid is among the affordable model from the company in India and launched 3 years back. From the starting, it has been priced at Rs 2.67 lakh and competing Datsun redi-GO and Maruti Suzuki Alto. It seems Renault has worked on a minor facelift of Kwid to cover the entry-level hatchback segment.

Looking at the appearance, the new Renault Kwid facelift has not seen with much updates. Rather, the good-looking and rugged car will get minor changes only. The front bumper is tweaked with space for the fog lamps. The rear bumper is also expected to be revised. The side profile of the Kwid facelift will be the same. Whereas we are not known about the interior yet, it doesn’t seem that it will get very major tweaks.

The Renault Kwid is equipped with two engine choices including a 1.0-litre petrol and 0.8-litre petrol. Both the engines are paired with 5-speed manual transmission option as standard. Moreover, the bigger engine is also available with AMT option. The 0.8-litre engine is able to generate an output of 67 bhp/91 Nm. This reasonably-priced hatchback uses the Renault-Nissan CMF-A platform. It is available with 300-litres of boot-space and a spacious interior. It is also available with an elegant ride functioning.

Now, the Kwid is known as the best-selling car in the country. In May 2018, the company offered 5,000 units of Kwid on roads and badged 17th rank for being among the best 20 largest selling cars in the country. With the facelift introduction, it will enhance the hatchback popularity. The company has not revealed any information about the hatchback, but it is expected to reach the Indian market sometime in 2019.
