Renault has posted a teaser image of the upcoming small car on its social media channel that could possibly be the XBA (Kayou) as the major design cues are matching with its testing mules. However, the manufacturer hasn't confessed the name of this teased out car in the uploaded image. According to the market reports, the reason behind its name's presumption is that the sketch shares its various properties with the XBA's spotted prototypes, such as front fascia and the side profile, including low cost wing mirrors.
Reportedly, both of these mentioned profiles with same features have been seen many times on the testing mules of this vehicle ahead of its worldwide unveiling, which will be held on May 20, 2015 in Chennai. On the other hand, it will make the presence in the Indian showrooms since the second half of this ongoing year. Mechanically, the Renault Kayou will be powered by a 0.8 litre three cylinder petrol engine and as per the market reports, this mill will be coupled to manual as well as an automated manual transmissions.
It is too hard to inform you that Renault won't offer diesel mill option for this forthcoming hatchback model. Based on the CMF-A platform, its price range is likely to be varied from INR 3 Lac to INR 4 Lac. The runabout will undergo production in Chennai at the Renault-Nissan alliance plant and after starting running on the ways, it will compete against the likes of the Maruti Alto, Datsun redi-Go and Hyundai Eon.
