Royal Enfield Continental GT, Only ABS version In House Spotted in Europe

Motoring forum, MCN has published a set of spy images of the Royal Enfield continental GT, has been captured while performing test runs in Europe. From the images, the observed most prominent addition is the ABS advanced features’ rings on the brake disc. With this enhancement, the Royal Enfield Continental GT will become the first motorcycle in the RE house to receive this top shelf safety feature.

Other than this, the motorcycle is also likely to receive upgrades at the powertrain end and an addition of Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) feature to meet the upcoming Euro IV emission norms. In India, the BSIV norms are going to imply in India in April 2017. If considered the online surfaced images, the ABS employment in the existing model’s discs and calipers, is the only visible improvement on the test mule. So we can expect its arrival to Indian shores sometimes in 2018, as the ABS feature, will be mandated from 2018. Moreover, it will cost in slightly higher price tag rather than current price offering.

If talks about the powertrain, the ongoing Royal Enfield Continental GT is screwed with a 535cc single cylinder engine that churns out astonishing power figures of 29.1bhp and 44Nm via the mated gearbox assembly. Runs on durable retro styled spoke wheels, the motorcycle uses Pirelli tyres, Brembo disc brakes, and Paoli suspension units as other hardware components. The ECU has been retuned to enhance motoring performance to a new level than ever before.

A top end trim of the Continental GT has also been reported from the RE’s top honcho, Mr. Siddhartha Lal, earlier this year. The motorcycle will be powered by a 750cc parallel twin engine and will hit the Indian motoring market in early 2017.
