Royal Enfield Dropping New Bombshell Product Every Year from 2016

Since its acquisition by Eicher Motors, Royal Enfield has become one of the most anticipated motorcycle brands among country people and enthusiasts as well. No doubt, that Royal Enfield has already marked its presence in national and international market with its high-end performance engines and superb quality products. With its latest launch in the form of Cafe-Racer named as Continental GT, which has made its appearance back in the year, 2013, firm has boomed up the market along with an increasing number of sales. While these days, another new motorcycle from Royal Enfield appeared in a testing zone several times, supposedly christened as Himalayan.

According to the released interview of Mr. Siddhartha Lal, Director and CEO of Eicher Motors, about the future plans of company, he says, “We are seeing the new products to come between 2016-2018. We don’t have a very wide portfolio’ we will keep it very tight and much focused. We will keep it between 250-750cc approximately. Where we are, we will remain in that. You can expect one big product every year, in the next three-five years. The last new product that we launched was in 2013 and the next one will be probably 2016. In three years we will launch a full new product.”

Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500

While talking about company’s strategy, Mr. Lal says that they are also looking forward to raise the production amount which will help to decrease the waiting period of customers, which has already come down to five months from nine months. The annual production will probably be reaching to 50,000 units from current 30,000 units. In order to increase the production, Royal Enfield will also be investing towards its R&D centre located in Mahabalipuram, Chennai and a technical centre as well within city limits.

Detailing about the upcoming products, Royal Enfield will be coming up with new capacity engines ranging from 250cc to 750cc. And, reportedly it has already started working on a twin-cylinder motor; directly competing with Harley-Davidson Street 750. Moreover, Ex-Ducati designer, Mr. Pierre Terblanche is the one will now be responsible for the stylish curves and cues of upcoming motorcycles.
