Royal Enfield Thunderbird X Specifications Revealed Via Brochure Leak

Royal Enfield that is going to update its Thunderbird range with the introduction of new X series on 28th Feb. The specifications of this most advanced series containing the 350X and the 500X models with bright colours have been revealed via a brochure leak.

The surfaced images of brochure unveiling the new 2018 RE Thunderbird X with updations such as the new handlebar, new seating, alloys, tubeless tyres, and blacked out engine, suspension and exhaust etc. Furthermore, the range of bright colours like Blue, Orange, White and Red will allure the young generation audience.

Headlight and taillight bits are shared as it is from the regular model. Though, the headlight now features LED DRL with projector headlamp, whereas the tail lamp unit is LED. Stands on 10 spoke alloy wheels, the front wheel shod of 90/90-19 tyre while the rear wheel is wrapped with the 120/80-18 tyre. The deceleration will be the responsibility of 280mm single disc at the front and 240mm single disc at the rear.

In terms of power, the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is loaded with a single cylinder 350cc engine. It is the similar unit being used by brand’s other 350 models. The churned out power from the engine is 19.8bhp at 5250 rpm along with 28 Nm torque at 4000 rpm. All the power sent to the rear wheel via a mated 5-speed gearbox transmission.

On the other hand, the top end variant the Thunderbird 500X will be powered by a 500cc single-cylinder engine unit borrowed from other RE 500cc models. The air-cooled, twin spark engine is capable of generating the maximum power of 27.2bhp at 5250 rpm and the peak torque of 41.3Nm at 4,000rpm. The mill is mated to a five-speed gearbox.

The availability of the Thunderbird 350X and Thunderbird 500X has been started registering at dealerships. The launch has scheduled for Feb 28. The major concern of pricing is expected to be a premium of around INR 10-20K over the regular trim cost. As of now, the Thunderbird 350 is priced at INR 1.48 lakh and the Thunderbird 500 is available on sale at INR 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
