Tata Motors Nano Production Locked Available On Order Only

The Tata Nano has been launched by the company 10 years back in order to offer the most affordable car. As per the report, the Tata Motors has ended the production of the Nano because of reduced and poor sales record. Furthermore, Tata Motors manufactured only a single unit of the Nano hatchback in June than 275 units which was manufactured in June of last year.

Tata Motors has announced in September that the company would carry on with the Nano hatchback production some more time considering the emotional connection with the model. The company mentioned the Nano as the important model in the passenger vehicles segment and is the single model in the entry-level hatchback segment of Tata Motors. The Nano is priced between Rs. 2.25 lakh - Rs. 3.20 lakh and is the most affordable car in India as well as the world. The Nano is available with an AMT variant as well.

Although, the company says that the Nano is important in the company portfolio and will not be vanishing completely. The Spokesperson mentioned, "Nano has been an iconic car reflecting the innovative spirit of the company and its leaders. Decisions on product lifecycle is a holistic view taken after considering the market developments, regulations and emerging competitive landscape. Any such decisions are announced as and when it's taken.” “Production planning of a car is a conscious management of demand, system inventory and planned efficiencies. Therefore, speculating on the fate of a car based on a month's production figure is something the company would not like to participate in."

In August 2017, Tata Motors mentioned that it is thinking to bring an alternate option for the Nano such as an electric version. It was as well informed that the Nano would not go out because of sentimental value and even shareholders did not want it. Although, Tata Motors has not completely eliminated the Nano from the portfolio. The company will produce the Nano on order in the Sanand facility, Gujarat. Amid, the company will pay more attention and enlarge the manufacturing facility in order to fulfill the demand of the Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor in India.
