Tata Zica Compact Sedan Version Likely to Replace Indigo eCS

Market reports were doing the rounds that Tata Motors is planning to launch the Zica hatch in a sedan avatar. The model has been even spotted at various instances while being tested in India. Now some fresh reports have surfaced which suggest that this upcoming compact sedan could be named as Tata Sway. Moreover, it is expected to replace the age old Indigo eCS, which has been restricted by the automaker to the commercial vehicle segment. Once launched, this offering is going to be a strong competitor for the likes of Swift Dzire, Ford Figo Aspire, Honda Amaze, etc.

As this sedan is going to be based on Zica, it is believed that most of the features will be shared between the two. These equipments include- 2 DIN audio system, Bluetooth & USB connectivity, multi-function steering wheel, dual front airbags, and ABS. Mechanically, it is expected to be fitted with a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder petrol motor that is tuned to pump out maximum power of 85 Bhp and peak torque of 114 Nm.

A diesel variant might also be available in the lineup consisting of a 1.05 litre diesel unit, making 70 Bhp and 140 Nm of maximum output. Transmission duties are performed by a 5-speed manual facility, whereas an AMT could also be offered later with the top end variant.

As for now, the market is eagerly waiting to welcome Tata Zica, which is due for launch on 15th January, 2016. Right from the teasers to the promotional videos, the hatch has created a lot of sensation among the audience. Interestingly, the company has discontinued Manza as well as Vista and now it wants to concentrate only on the profitable options.
