Tesla Model Y SUV Confirmed as Next Launch

A while ago, it has been reported from Tesla Motors that the company is going to unwrap a most affordable electric car-Model X at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show in the United Kingdom. But it seems that the company is more exhilarated for its future upcoming. As recently, Tesla CEO Mr. Elon Musk revealed via his Twitter handle that Tesla will soon enlarge its product portfolio with the addition of a compact SUV, Model Y, and an electric minibus.

Based on the Model 3 luxury sedan platform, the next in the line Model Y has recently revealed in April. And, is expected to roll out after the Model 3 launch that is slated towards the end of 2017. Other than this, not more is known about the upcoming compact SUV, but there would be a Falcon Wing door featuring, as the reports suggest. And, the Model Y is speculated to tag the same price tag as of Model 3. Moreover, the company is aiming to cater demand for Model Y in the range of 5,00,000 to 1 million units posts its launch.

Aside from the Model Y, It is also known that Tesla Motors is also working on a high passenger-density urban transport- a mini bus project that might be built over the Model X chassis. This clearly showcases the company is contemplating to expand its body style and transport range, altogether along with the increase in the role of autonomous driving technology. This compact SUV is likely to boast with modern safety features and more about this might be disclosed in coming months.
