Toyota Motors haven't been successful in Indian sedan market as it was meant to be with its Etios runabout. Now, as the car market in the country is growing, the manufacturer is planning to bring its Vios sedan in here. This car has already been on the sale in a some international markets and will be placed between Etios and Corolla Altis sedan, if launched though. However, there haven't been any word of confirmation from the company yet, but the car is on the testing. Talking about its design, it has been developed on the Yaris hatchback platform and will take the fight against the likes of VW Vento, Maruti Ciaz and other same niche cars.
Under the bonnet, the car has been powered by a 1.5 Litre VVT-I petrol engine producing 107 bhp power and 141 Nm torque and a 1.4 Litre D4-D diesel engine churning out 88 PS power. There would be a 5-speed manual gearbox available as standard and a 4-speed automatic transmission system as the other option for the enthusiasts. The car will have the dimensions of 4410 mm long, 1700 mm wide and 1475 mm tall alongside the wheelbase of 2550 mm wheelbase.
The price of this Vios sedan in India would be around INR 7-11 Lac Ex-Showroom and I guess that is pretty in much for the most growing population in the country. Well, let's see when the car gets going in India.
