TVS-BMW Working On A Middle-weight Adventurer Tourer Machine

TVS-BMW is reportedly working on a middle-weight Adventure Tourer machine that is likely to be powered by a newly developed twin-cylinder and 500-600cc motor displacement. The G310R is the first product from the collaboration that was recently showcased at the 2015 EICMA show. The new 500-600cc twin-cylinder motorcycle will be the second motorcycle from the Indo-German coalition that might be design & developed in the German and manufactured in TVS’s manufacturing facility in India, however, the company is yet to confirm about the development of the product.

Reports are suggested that the upcoming middle-weight motorcycle will be based on the BMW G 650 GS and will be positioned below the G 650 GS. As of now, the company has very few options available in the middle-weight segment for the Indian lineup. In the collaboration of TVS-BMW, the new middle-weight motorcycle will surely make its position in this category in the two-wheeler market. It will likely arrive in the public by the next year at the EICMA Motorcycle Show and might be launched in 2017.

The new motorcycle would be priced around 6 lakhs that will be sold in the country through the newly joint Indo-German coalition. Apart from this, the recently showcased G310R is an entry-level motorcycle from the collaboration that will be launched in the country by the next year. Mechanically, the 2016 G310 R featuring a newly developed 313cc liquid-cooled and single-cylinder motor that will produce 34 BHP of power at 9500 RPM and 28 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM. The engine will be mated to a six-speed transmission.
