In its journey of 25 years, it has always evolved to stay relevant to its purpose of being the most viable mobility option for the New Age Indian women, making their commute affordable, comfortable, safe and fun. A TVS Scooty is passed down in the family and seldom resold, this is a measure of love that the brand has enjoyed. We are humbled and grateful to the generations of proud TVS Scooty owners, who built this brand to its iconic status, and made it synonymous with female mobility in India."
The Scooty Pep which was launched in 1994, is one of the most beloved entry-level scooters in the country. And sooner it succeeded in winning hearts of its target audience-young Indian women. Also, with the time passed the name has grown as synonymously with young female riders. The Scooty Pep+ enjoys a huge customer base of 4.5 million and connects the remote cities and towns as well. The Scooty which proved as a huge success for the company makes it possible the commencement of several programs under the same moniker. Like, the "Women on Wheels"- a rider training institute for women, the '99 colours' mass customisation program for Scooty range and the Wimbledon edition as a special celebration series. Also, the TVS Zest has registered its name in the India Book of Records as the first 110cc scooter to traverse the highest motorable road in the world- Khardung La.
In the recent past years, the TVS has updated Scooty with a host of practical updates along with a few additional features like the side stand indicator, under-seat storage hooks, open glove box, daytime running lights and TVS’ Eazy Stand technology which sports in putting the centre stand by 30 per cent.
The powering for the TVS Scooty Pep+ comes from an 87.7 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that spawns 4.8 bhp and 5.8 Nm of peak torque. While the TVS Zest 110 uses the maximum power of 7.8 bhp along with 8.4 Nm of peak torque from the 109.7 cc CVTI single-cylinder engine. The transmission on both the variants is managed by a CVT automatic unit. As the company claims, the Zest 110 is rated to complete 0-60kmph sprint in just 11.1 seconds which makes the quickest offering in its segment.
