As you all now that Polo GTI is soon going to make its way to the Indian market by March 2016 and now a fresh report by autocar India states that the hatch will be displayed at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The Auto Expo is a famous event in India which will take place in February 2016, where several automakers will display their respective upcoming as well as existing offerings. Volkswagen is already selling the Polo model with the variants GT TSI and GT TDI. The soon-to-arrive Polo GTI is going to be the fastest hatch in Indian market.

The GTI has already been showcased at various public platforms and carries several tweaked features when compared to the regular Polo. The list of cosmetic elements include LED headlights, honeycomb grille, subtle side skirts, larger alloys, dual exhaust tips and a sporty bumper at the front & back. Moving inside, there will be a flat bottomed sporty steering wheel, aluminium pedals and contrast stitching on the seats.

Mechanical configuration consists of a 1.8 litre 4-cylinder TSI motor that is tuned to pump out 192PS and 320Nm of peak output. This power is transmitted to the front wheels via either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG unit. This setup enables the hatchback to sprint from 0-100km/h within just 7 seconds when the top speed is limited to 236km/h. Apart from this, the driver can also choose the driving mode among Comfort and Sport. The upcoming model will rival Fiat Abarth Punto and is likley to reach Indian shores via CKD route.
