Swedish Carmaker, Volvo Auto is all prepared to extend its Indian product portfolio with the debut of the new S90 in the Indian market in near around September month of this year. The carmaker did not confirm the exact release date for the luxury sedan. Speculations reveal that the booking for this new addition in the Volvo’s lineup will be initiated in the coming days. The Volvo S90’s launch will supersede the older sibling S80 in the hotly contested luxury segment.
Rival with the BMW 5-Series, Jaguar XF, Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, post the launch, the luxury car S90 is likely to hold the price tag starting from INR 46 Lakh (ex-showroom). The projected price tag seems lesser against the furnish top shelves equipments and accessories in the beauty.
Apparently, the new S90 receives the company’s latest design styling which is more sleek and elegant compared to its chunky and heavy shouldered looking sedan cousins. Sharing the XC90 style cues, the Volvo S90’s exterior is furnished with the vertical slatted grille, signature Volvo’s logo, stylish headlamps accompanied by 'Thor's Hammer' LED DRLS, large air intakes and wide air dam on the front fascia.
Inside the cabin, the various elements such as instrument cluster, simple steering, large portrait-style touchscreen, etc. are shared with the Volvo XC90 SUV. Apart from this, the Swedish marque is all prepared to offer radar-based safety technologies on this new S90 sedan.

Important thing, under the hood, the S90 will be powered by Volvo’s 2.0 litre diesel engine. The two different variants uses this powertrain, the D4 motor will spits out the 190 hp of power while the other trim holding more powerful D5 motor will generate the 235hp of power. Though officially nothing has been revealed, still we expect that the Volvo S90 might be debuted with petrol and hybrid powertrain.
