An updated version of the XC90 model has been introduced in the UK, which comes with certain additional features. It has been labelled as XC90-R Design and is available for £49,785 that equates to approximately INR 50 Lacs. Talking about the Indian market, the second generation XC90 had been launched here back in May, 2015 at the starting price of INR 64.9 Lacs. As for now, the R-Design is available only with V40 model, but it could be expected with the XC90 as well in the near future.

Discussing the features, the exterior is adorned with several captivating elements that distinguish the R-Design from the regular model. These fitments are- 20-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, LED headlamps, mesh pattern grille furnished in gloss black, tinted rear windows and silver effect on the wing mirrors as well as window sill.
Moving inside, certain equipments are same as found in the previous version like Sensus Navigation accompanied by 9-inch touchscreen interface, 2-zone climate control, and electrically operated boot lid. Besides, additional features namely 12.3 TFT screen for information display, leather trimmed steering wheel and power adjustable front seats with memory function are offered.

Mechanically, it has bee rolled with different engine options ranging from petrol and diesel to an electric category, which are labelled as T6 Drive-E, D5 and top end trim T8 that comes with a combination of petrol and electric motor. Further, it gets the standard adjustable steering force and drive mode settings relating to engine, transmission, and optional air suspension. Safety is ensured by a front collision warning that is available with full auto brake.
