VW Tiguan Might be Set Up in India Next Year

Volkswagen is currently busy in developing its second generation Tiguan SUV, which  has been spotted testing in fewer European countries. Let's talk on the basis of the market report, the manufacturer will chuck out this upcoming vehicle from the curtain at the annual auto show going to be held in Frankfurt and could also launch in India next year. Notably, this is the first time for the runabout to be offered in a couple of configurations, 5-seat and 7-seat. There is a very strong presumption for the latter to be arriving with increased wheelbase and larger interior space than the current one.

For the Indian market, the SUV is expected to be available in only 7-seat configuration. According to the experts, the reason behind this strategy is to give a tough competition against the likes of the Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortunar and Chevrolet Trailblazer, which could be possible by the 7-seat variant as it will be more  powerful than the former one.

In order to follow this strategy, Volkswagen has aggressively decided to price the Tiguan competitively via making its appearance in our country as the CKD unit. Just like the other forthcoming models from Volkswagen, the new Tuguan will also be based on the MQB platform and could get a 1.0 litre TSI three cylinder and a 2.0 litre TDI diesel engines.
