Renault Might Introduce all new Sub-4m Mini SUV

Some recent market reports suggest that Renault is planning to introduce an all new mini SUV in the market. This will be a sub-4m SUV, which means that this vehicle will have an overall length of approximate 3.9 metres. The upcoming model will reportedly utilise Renault's Value Up concept. This concept has not been revealed yet, but it is likely to be inspired from Renault-Nissan alliance CMF architecture. The all new mini car is expected to arrive in the automobile market by the end of 2017.

 Renault Kwid

The powertrain of the upcoming model is expected to include both petrol and diesel units with an output of 75 Bhp. The petrol variant will borrow a 1 litre, three-cylinder petrol engine from the hatchback model Renault Twingo. On the other hand, the diesel variant is expected to carry a 1.5 litre, four-cylinder unit. For the German market, the upcoming mini SUV is speculated to be priced at 16,000 Euros i.e. INR 11.2 Lacs. The price of this model is likely to be less than the Captur model. The new compact vehicle is likely to be slotted between the Kwid and Duster.

Renault Captur

The company is trying hard to increase its market share, particularly in Indian car market. As a result, a lot of Renault vehicles are due to be launched in the country in the next few years. Renault's soon-to-be-launched SUV models, like Kwid and Captur will be fighting with Ford Ecosport to capture a larger market share. It will be interesting to see who wins this battle, especially when Ford is also going to introduce the facelift version of Ecosport in the year 2016.
