Recently, HMSI has begun operations at its new plant established in Vithalapur, Gujarat. This is the second assembly line of its fourth manufacturing plant. As per the calculations, this new facility has resulted in the addition of six lakh units production capacity per year. This means the plant’s annual capacity has been reached to 1.2 million units. When the second assembly line got introduced in India, the automaker had started producing country’s largest selling two-wheeler, Activa. As a consequence, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India witnessed a significant expansion in the annual production of the scooter to 5.8 million monads, which is a conjunction of 1.6 million units at first plant in Haryana, 1.2 million units at the second plant in Rajasthan, 1.8 million units at the third plant in Karnataka, and yet 1.2 million units at the final plant in Gujarat.

As compared to the earlier period of 30 days, Honda two-wheeler dealerships in Mumbai are now delivering the vehicle between 7-10 days, which is far better than waiting for a whole month. Though, buyers in states like Bangalore, Delhi, and Karnataka can get Activa from dealerships on the spot.
