Yamaha FZ25 Garners India Design Mark Award for 2018

The Yamaha FZ25 has been awarded with the prestigious India Design Mark (I Mark) Award for 2018. The Indian Design Council delivered the coveted award to the FZ25 for its engineering and design in 2018. For your reminisce, the Japanese firm has recorded seven consecutive wins for this title since 2012. The Yamaha YZF-R3 was the first one to win this award in 2012 that was later followed by the products like Cygnus Ray in 2013, Cygnus Ray Z in 2014, Cygnus Alpha and FZ in 2015, Yamaha Fascino and Saluto 125 in 2016 and the Cygnus Ray ZR and YZF-R3 as well in 2017.

India Design Council is an autonomous body of the Government of India. This national strategic body deals in multi-disciplinary design and promotion of design in businesses, society and public services. The India Design Council is spearheading the national design direction in association with other government agencies, the design community, industry and education institutions. The India Design Mark award by the executive council defines that the product meets or exceeds its criteria of evaluation in terms of design by fulfilling all concerned aspects like its form, function, quality, safety, sustainability and innovation.

The Yamaha FZ25 was launched in India in 2017. Positioned between the products like the R15 V3.0 and the R15-S, the FZ25 extends the FZ-S range in the Indian biking industry. Design wise, boasting a host of enhancement in the form of muscular profile and trendier design cues, the award winner FZ25 carries forward the design language of the FZ-S. furthermore, the LED headlamp setup offers a distinctive appearance to the motorcycle.

In its early stages, the FZ25 manages to sell out 4,000 units that have come down around 2000 units monthly. It is available for sale at the price sticker of INR 1.19 lakhs (ex-showroom) and goes in competition with the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the KTM 200 Duke.
