Yamaha's Three-wheeled Bike Likely to get Launched in 2017

Yamaha tenders a hallmark application for the MWT-9, which gives a clear indication that it may initiate the production of this three-wheeled Tourer soon. The bike is based upon MT-09 and will be equipped with three cylinders. According to the application, the name is for use on “motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, three-wheeled motorcycles, three-wheeled scooters, three-wheeled mopeds and parts and fittings thereof.”

The company has marked a constant growth from the past few years and for its betterment in the coming time also, the President of Yamaha Motors, Hiroyuki Yanagi has made an official statement recently, which stated, “We are starting our 60th anniversary celebrations on a high point but we want to continue to exceed expectations again and again. We have a strong desire to deliver a strong performance and that includes two, three and even four-wheeled vehicles. He also added, we want to extend our technology and grow our customer base. The three-wheelers provide fun and extra safety but the MWT is the first time a motorcycle in the ‘fun’ category has been developed. Three years ago we told you Yamaha was back and we should rightly be proud of our achievements since then, but we must continue.”

The bike acquires extremely aggressive, hunky and tough body dynamics and has taken the technological aspects from Tricity scooter, which is at hand right now in Europe. Probably, the MWT-9 may not take a step towards the Indian automobile market, but we do have hopes as we also get MT-09 to our shores. The motorcycle has been recently unveiled by the Japanese hunk at the ongoing 2016 Indian Auto Expo.
