The Leica is the brand associated for top notch and futuristic camera manufacturing. With a wide range of newly introduced as well as updates for the earlier versions, the brand was among the point of attractions at the world of imaging, Photokina held in Cologne, Germany. With all the products showcased over there, few seems to me manufactured without a proper agenda, while some were defining beauty in some indifferent aspects. Here is a short journey of Leica’s Photokina trip.
The 37.5 megapixel camera is boasted with a medium format sensor, which can record videos with a resolution upto 4K. The resolution is ultra high on the scale of imaging. The Leica S series cameras are quite bulky to lift and hold many great features. The rear portion holds a 3 inch LCD screen which is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass to make the photography zeal sturdy and less to worry. The optical view finder has a balancing apparatus to get the camera under balanced conditions with the horizon. Leica has crafted this product with a great shutter speed of 1/1000 seconds; however, it is not so great in hard core action terms. The restructured sensor has got a focal length of 30 by 44mm.
The Leica X (Typ 113) is the mirrorless unit, which has Summilux 23 MM f/1.7 ASPH lens. The 16.5 megapixel CMOS sensor is a brilliant snapper for negligible blur effect and can grab the image from a distant object to the body located as close as 0.2 meter of length. The 35mm focal length on full frame 35mm sensor and APS-C sensor allowing 23mm length results in crisp, superbly clear and wide angle photography. The videography is also a fun thing with full HD 1920x1080 pixel resolution on offer at 30 frames per second get the movie saved in MP4 format.
D-Lux is also a strong crop from Leica’s field. Leica DC Vario Summilux 10.9–34 mm f/1.7–2.8 ASPH lens has the superb co-ordination to generate great quality images while playing in motion. The zoom graph being 24mm-75 mm in 35 mm terms is quite impressive. The electronic viewfinder has great capabilities while the LCD screen is visible during bright sunlight. The WIFI and NFC connectivity makes the things happening for sharing purpose. It also comes with a good number of accessories and additionally attached equipments. Leica has showed its appearance really wide with these products.
