Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV: First memory stacked Selfie Camera

Sony's recent launch of the Cyber-shot RX100 IV has energized the compact range of portfolio camera. The company claimed it to be the first memory stacked 1.0 type CMOS sensor camera. The Exmor RS version of CMOS 20.2 MP image sensor camera makes it different with its sleeker look-n-feel approach.

The shooter has been launched with the price chit of Rs 69,990 with featured Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) on Integrated Chip to store each bit on separate capacitor. The processing speed is five times faster as that of the earlier RX100 series camera. High resolution video capturing capability is hiked by the slow motion capacity, to capture the video @ 960 frames-per-second. The image captured is 4K (3,840 * 2,160 pixels) Ultra High Definition in resolution. The Burst speed of 16 frames-per-second is boosted up from 10fps with anti-distortion ultra fast shutter speed of 1/32000 seconds.

The compact look is comprised of the XAVC S codec, which helps in shooting at a rate of 50Mbps for Full-HD while 100Mbps for 4K recording. This is for the first time, the company has come up with the concept of 4K recording with its Cyber-shot range. The 3-inch tiltable Electronic View Finder (EVF) has also gone up with the pixel density of 2.36 million dots on the display panel.

The design front is enlightened with light weight (298g) smooth aluminum frame with sleek buttons adding the High Frame Rate (HFR) video mode. The clickable flash light button on the rear side, helps to manage the Drive and other settings. Perfect for selfie lovers, as the device has a rotatable LCD with lens zooming facility from 24mm to 70mm having aperture of f/1.8-f/2.8. Near field communicable device also sports a connectivity through Wi-Fi and furnishes the gadget with SD card.

The only limitation over its slow motion shooting is that, the device requires 64GB SDXC card to capture frames. The tech giant is expecting the discerning selfie shooters and compact camera lovers to love this creation.
