Sony, the Japanese tech giant has launched a new camera dubbed as RX10 IV, aiming to bring high-end features to its RX10 lineup. The latest launched camera comes with high continuous-shooting speeds and improved autofocus system. The company has officially announced that the RX10 IV camera is for all the people wanting to "capture more stunning stills and movies at every opportunity,".
Much like its predecessor RX10 III, the Sony RX10 IV retains the same specifications and features like - same f/2.4-4, 26-600mm (25x optical) zoom lens with optical image stabilization capability. However, the company has said that the feedback of the users are being considered and is determined to incorporate those for the much better user experience.
The company further added that the modern users wanted to take images at much much higher speed, a feature that is costlier cameras are known for. Hence, keeping in mind about this, the latest Rx10 IV has been enabled to hit 24 frames per second in continuous shooting with autofocus and exposure, the feature which was not present in the previous version of the RX10 lineup. Also, the camera has been equipped with new autofocus system having 315 phase-detection points, and it works in association with the Sony's High-density Tracking AF capable of achieving focus in 0.03 seconds.
Sony has also said that the company has managed to incorporate the "world-leading 0.03-s AF speed by the 1.0-type Exmor RS CMOS image sensor that provides for fast, accurate autofocusing at all times." A new silent shutter facility has also been provided, allowing users to take images without making any noise.
Apart from all these, the Sony has said that the 3-inch display on the back now supports touch input as well, which was missing in the previous version i.e. RX10 III. The latest launched Sony RX10 IV Camera is priced at $1,699 and the shipping of the same will commence from the month of October.
