Airtel Join hands With Celkon To Launch 4G Smartphone For Rs 1,349

Airtel has joined hands with the Celkon under it's recently launched 'Mera Pehla 4G Smartphone' initiative. The company is aiming to give 4G smartphone for Rs 1,349, directly rivaling and posing a threat to Reliance Jio 4G feature phone aka 'India Ka Smartphone'. A buyer will need to pay Rs. 2,849 to buy the handset, and then buy recharges worth Rs. 169 for 36 months.

Also, a buyer can purchase recharges worth Rs. 3,000 in the first 18 months and another Rs. 3,000 in the next 18 months to be eligible for the refunds that subsidize the cost of the handset. At the end of 18 months, they will be entitled to get a refund of Rs. 500, while another Rs. 1,000 will be refunded after the next 18 months.

It must be noted that the Celkon Smart 4G is available in the market with the price tag of Rs. 3,500. the handset has a 4-inch display WVGA (480x800 pixels), dual-SIM support, and 8GB of inbuilt storage. This smartphone operates on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has access to all apps available on Google Play Store, including YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp, which are not available on Jio Phone.

Airtel Celkon Smart 4G handset has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 3.2-megapixel primary camera with flash, 2-megapixel front camera, microSD card support up to 32GB, and 1500mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the users get Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, USB OTG, 3G/4G, FM radio, and 3.5mm audio jack.
