Android 6.0.1 is the latest version of android and various companies like HTC, LG, etc have been notified about the same. This latest OS also known as Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been tested on the HTC One M8 and reports are doing the rounds that the software update has been already rolled out for the model. The Marshmallow comes with a host of new updates and the major change is the dozens of newly added smileys. Apart from this, it has also got navigation buttons at new positions for tablets as well as a modified Do Not Disturb function.
The roll out of Android M on HTC One M8 has given way for the possibility of the update being carried out on other HTC devices soon. Earlier, there have been installations of Jelly Bean, Kitkat and Lollipop versions on the model. If the reports by IB Times are to be believed, with this newly introduced Android version, the M8 is also going to receive the latest HTC Sense 7.0 UI layer. Moreover, the users also get to approve the new app permissions on the feature-by-feature basis.
Reports suggest that the 9 months old One M9 is likely to receive this Android version by this month. Because of the amazingly new features of the OS, people are eagerly waiting to get it on their respective devices. However, if we talk about HTC HD2, this model has its own story. Since it runs on both android and windows, there are less chances for the Marshmallow to make its way to the HD2 device.
