Blackberry Evolve and Evolve X Launched in India

BlackBerry, Indian licensee Optiemus Infracom Ltd has launched two smartphones in India, dubbed as, Evolve and Evolve X at a price tag of Rs 24,990 and Rs 34,990 respectively.

The key highlighting features of both smartphones includes Full View Display, 18:9 aspect ratio, a larger 4000 mAh battery, face unlock, dual cameras, Dolby Surround Sound, and Quick Charge 3.0 technology with the support of wireless charging.

The Evolve and Evolve X come with rear-mounted fingerprint sensors which unlock the smartphone in just 0.3 seconds, claims company. The quite interesting part is that both smartphones also have a face unlock feature touted to unlock the gadget in just 0.4 seconds. 

Both, BlackBerry Evolve and BlackBerry EvolveX are bundled with BlackBerry Hub that can be worked as a messaging inbox and contains texts, emails and even messages of social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, BBM, WhatsApp, Instagram and more.

BlackBerry Evolve and EvolveX Availability

The BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X will be available for purchase from mid- September and August respectively via Amazon exclusively.

As a part of launch offers, the smartphones are bundled with Reliance Jio cashback offer amounting Rs 3,950. Further, ICICI credit card holders will be eligible to avail 5 percent instant cashback on EMI transactions along with additional launch offers.

The BlackBerry EvolveX Specifications

The BlackBerry EvolveX flaunts a 5.99-inch IPS LCD which offers the screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 resolution. On the top, it has a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which protects the smartphone from any damages.

The back panel is developed with the grade-7 aluminum frame which enhances the toughness of the smartphone. The fingerprint scanner sits between the rear cameras and BlackBerry branding. The smartphone has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

Further, the storage can be extended up to 2TB by using a microSD card. It runs on top of the line Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

BlackBerry EvolveX comes with Dolby Atmos speakers to provide the 3D sound experience to the users. The company has used better audio technology features in Evolve X to render better communication, encompass sound fields, a maximum delicacy, a large volume without disturbance and a constant volume in all content types.

Obviously, the aforementioned features have been tested by the company before introducing the smartphone.

In terms of lens, the Blackberry EvolveX comes with dual cameras on the back panel including 12MP primary sensor and 13MP secondary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.6 respectively. The rear camera set up comes with an LED flash. Up front, the smartphone gets a 16MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0.

The EvolveX packs a larger 4000mAh battery bundled with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology and wireless charging.

BlackBerry Evolve Specifications

Likewise BlackBerry EvolveX, BlackBerry Evolve features a similar 5.99-inch IPS LCD display along with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo- out- of- the- box. Under the hood, it is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC clocked at 1.8Ghz.

It is bundled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage that can be extended up to 256GB by using a microSD card. The smartphone comes with two unlock features: fingerprint scanner and facial recognition.

In terms of photography, the BlackBerry Evolve packs a dual 13MP+13MP sensors followed by dual LED flash on the rear panel. For selfies and video calling, the Evolve has a 16MP wide-angle front- facing camera. The front camera has a tetra cell technology which allows users to capture brighter selfies during the night or dark conditions.
