Twitter Samvad has been launched in India and nation's PM itself has initiated the service by tweeting about to activate the service. A part of Digital India campaign, this service has been announced to aware public with current affairs by sending SMS alert. Government policies, services, activities, and emergency services are being shared via this service.

PM Modi, the External Affairs Ministry, Bangalore City Police and Chief Ministers of Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar have already joined the bandwagon of this new service with their official twitter accounts. Zipdial is the base behind this service which is an India based company , acquired recently by Twitter.

During the launch of Twitter Samvad, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo said, "As part of the prime minister's Digital India initiative, this tweet-powered service enables citizens to be the first to know about the government's actions by receiving political content in real time on their mobile devices anywhere in the country"

I have tried to activate this service by giving a missed call to 011-30063006 and received welcome SMS from Modi instantly along with the latest tweet about enhancing ties with Canada from all major aspects. You can activate the same for other 16 government departments also by following the same procedure with their specific contact number.
